Facilities Operative
Job description Facilities Operative: Monday to Friday 5am - 2pm, £27,040 per annum
Centurion Travel are one of the leading Coach and travel companies in the South West of England. We are currently looking for a self motivated individual to join our successful business in Midsomer Norton. The successful candidate will be responsible for the depot’s maintenance, upkeep, cleanliness and overall Health & Safety compliance. Also ensuring our fleet of vehicles are kept fit for purpose to ensure customer satisfaction.

Duties:
- Ensuring a high level of cleanliness is maintained in all company vehicles on a daily basis
- Ensuring a high level of cleanliness is maintained throughout the facilities on a daily basis
- Using cleaning materials appropriately, as instructed and economically; replenishing when stocks are low.
- Completing daily site audit, following through actions as appropriate. Updating Risk Assessments.
- Ensuring tools and equipment are in good working order, reporting any faults to Line Manager, be responsible for actioning repairs / replacements where appropriate.
- Empty and clean bins and remove waste to designated area, including the separation of waste, i.e. recycling
- Cleaning internal glass and internal and external door glass.
- Using electrical equipment etc. after appropriate training
- Using approved cleaning materials and in accordance with manufacturers printed instructions and COSHH regulations. Chemicals should never be mixed with other chemicals
- Ensuring they are aware of their responsibilities for Health & Safety of themselves and others
- Vacuuming, mopping and removing stains from carpets and upholstery
- Ensuring the safety and security of visitors, staff and volunteers.
- Have a general overview of Health and Safety, in accordance with statutory guidance.
- You will also be required to compile and keep / update a full record of H&S activities.
- Carrying out small repairs and maintenance in a timely fashion. This includes all aspects of the property, being electrics, the heating system, roof inspection and upkeep, among others. Contractors may be used for more specialist tasks.
- You will prepare an annual maintenance plan and will oversee annual contracts in line with that plan.
- Liaising with contractors for more substantial repairs and improvement work to be carried out.
